IMG_3318WE NEED YOUR HELP…

Gateway School of Fashion – South Africa
in association with Karen Millen

Each year we hope to run a one year fashion course in South Africa to train twenty young people affected by HIV in developing skills in fashion design, pattern cutting and sewing. Your help can make this possible for the next 2009 cohort of students.

Some ways in which you can help:

  • Entrepreneurship Project – sponsor a rail space to promote a student collection at the Designer Emporium, Gateway Shopping Complex, Durban
  • Incubator – we have been donated a building by Gateway. We need money for renovation and for purchase of equipment
  • Student Bursary – Sponsor a student to study a BA in Fashion
  • Donation of material with freight to South Africa
  • Purchase of equipment eg. sewing machines, computers, dress mannequins
  • Sponsor a student – £1,500 pays for one student, social and necessary family support whilst on the course
  • Sponsor a van to pick up students from home and take them to retail outlets for research
  • Provide a placement for a South African student to the UK
  • Provide any support towards the teaching – currently the project only has one instructor
  • Making a Donation

All donations to the Gateway School of Fashion are managed by HOPEHIV (who are a registered charity, which enables GIFTAID funding). Should you wish to make a donation, please make cheques payable to HOPEHIV with reference to the Gateway School of Fashion (as they manage 49 projects in total). Cheques should be sent to HOPEHIV, PO Box 44350, London SW20 8XR.
